At just 24 years old, Nicole found herself with a smile that didn’t reflect her age or personality. Her youthful and fresh face was affected by wide, round teeth that gave her a more childish appearance, with noticeable spaces between them.
Also, Nicole has dental agenesis, a condition where some teeth never erupt, leaving a permanent gap in the mouth. The lack of teeth 15 and 25 (upper second premolars) not only disrupted the aesthetic but also made more evident these diastemas.

Before coming to Sonrisa Italiana, Nicole had tried to resolve the missing teeth issue with dental implants at another clinic. However, although it’s a rare situation, her body rejected the implants. This happens when the body doesn’t consider the implant compatible, which led us to seek a new solution.
This is the kind of challenge we pride ourselves on addressing at Sonrisa Italiana. We understand that every patient is unique, and that’s why we’re always equipped to find the best alternatives, no matter the condition, with the health and well-being of the patient as our top priority.

With this new approach, we decided to rethink the treatment plan. The goal wasn’t just to restore the missing teeth, but also to improve the overall alignment of her smile in a comprehensive way. The plan involved restoring the gaps from teeth 15 and 25, while simultaneously correcting the overjet Nicole had, a detail that made her smile less harmonious.
Vertical dimension increase was crucial to this plan. This technique allowed us to adjust the relationship between the upper and lower teeth, bringing balance to the bite and a more natural outcome. Not only did the vertical dimension increase help with alignment, but it also helped create a more symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing smile.

To restore the lost space of teeth 15 and 25, we opted for a fixed partial prosthesis, an ideal solution in this case since implants weren’t an option. Additionally, zirconia crowns were placed on the posterior teeth, and ceramic veneers were used on the anterior teeth. This combination of materials allowed us to achieve a result that was not only functional but also harmonized perfectly with the rest of Nicole’s smile.

Zirconia is an incredibly durable material, perfect for crowns in the back of the mouth, while ceramic veneers, used on the front teeth, mimic the natural appearance of tooth enamel, providing a flawless aesthetic finish. Thanks to our close collaboration with our dental laboratory, we were able to combine these two materials in a way that made the final result seamless and visually perfect.
This treatment, designed and carried out by our specialists, Dr. Paola Zabaleta and Dr. Daniel Zabaleta, was a team effort that once again demonstrated our commitment to offering personalized and effective solutions, always prioritizing what’s best for each patient.

Throughout this process, it became clear that the true challenge wasn’t just improving the aesthetics of Nicole’s smile, but finding customized solutions for her unique case. Thanks to advanced technology and the dedication of our team, we were able to restore her smile in an integral way, providing not just an aesthetic solution, but a smile that now truly reflects her essence.
